Street Reviews Logrono Harvest Festival Part 5/8 “Kalimocho”

Spending a whole day at Alicia Rojas Bodega had me completely wore out. When I climbed into bed I was content with calling it an early night and getting up early the next morning. That didn't quite work out! Sometime around 12AM the sounds of people in the streets woke me from my late-night siesta. It was still early in Logrono, especially during a fiesta. Judging from the way people were dressed and the direction they were headed, it looked like they were just starting to head out for the night.
Always up for a party I got dressed and cleaned up. Before stepping out the door I heard the mini-bar call my name. Liquor wasn't so appealing at the moment, but when I saw a lonely Coca-Cola sitting there I knew just the thing to do. It was time to make my first Kalimocho a big favorite with the locals. Armed with a Coke and a mini bottle of the festival wine I set out to see what was going on around town.
There was something happening around every corner! It was hard to believe how much was going on at one time...and so late...I mean, early at night! Music came from nearly every square, people packed the tapas district (yeah, that's right, tapas district), drum troops roamed the streets, there was even a parade! I finally settled at a spot near Plaza Parlamento to catch a local band. Around 3AM the music stopped and people scattered like cockroaches. I decided to head back and get some more sleep myself!
