Street Reviews Logrono Harvest Festival Part 6/8 “Calle Laurel”

Days of exploring the streets of Logrono, eating, drinking, and...well, working had taken its toll. Locals were going about their normal routines and enjoying festival events long before I made it out of my comfy bed. Even the hourly mini marching band ceased to wake me. Today was definitely going to start out slow. Around noon I managed to stumble down the street wiping the sleep from my eyes. First stop was a square for the daily degustacion and of course a mini bottle of wine. If memory serves me correct I had a tasty plate of chistorra y queso del roncal (local sausages and cheese), then headed back for a siesta. After a much needed and refreshing afternoon siesta it was time to visit the Tapas District. The 4 blocks around Calle Laurel are home to over 60 tapas bars. You can even get a guide book devoted to the area at the tourist office. Each bar has its own specialty and a different wine list. For about 3-4 Euros you can get a pincho (tapas) and a glass of vino, or for a few Euros more you can try a Gran Cru or Reserva. This area is packed with people almost all the time and has been voted as one of the best places to have a bachelor party. Always a (bachelor) party! After visiting Calle Laurel in the afternoon I went back for another siesta. When I woke I repeated the same process, that's right, I had a total of 3 siestas that day...and it felt good! All of this hard work had me exhausted so I'll let my pictures do the rest of the talking! Possibly the best octopus I ever ate! Tapas, tapas y more tapas! Blood sausage, quial eggs and wine. About 5 Euro's!
